ANPQP - Introduction
● Nissan Product Quality Procedure (NPQP) has been developed to define the Nissan requirements for suppliers from the initial
project planning phase, through the Start of Product (SOP), to the End of Product (EOP) life.
● NPQP is agreed in English. The English version is the master and should be referred to when clarification of any requirements
is necessary.
● Top Management commitment to support fully the achievement of all project goals and targets is a fundamental requirement throughout all phases of NPQP.
Nissan reserves the right to carry out on-site audits of the supplier at any time to confirm that the requirements of NPQP are met.
The Scope of NPQP:
NPQP applies to all external suppliers of:
- - Vehicle parts
- - Modular assemblies (example: Cock Pit Module (CPM), Front End Module (FEM))
- - Powertrain parts/units
- - Service parts
NPQP can also apply to external suppliers of direct, bulk or raw materials and in-house suppliers of production parts.
Structure:
● The NPQP is composed of five phases. These phases are related parts key events which links to the Nissan project milestones.
The Application of NPQP
● Suppliers are required to implement all NPQP activities.
● Suppliers are required to submit documentation as evidence of the output of these NPQP activities.
● The basic language for all documents submitted shall be English unless otherwise agreed with the Nissan department which will receive the document.
● The document submission requirements are determined by the supplier/product/manufacturing process assessment level allocated by Nissan. This assessment
level shall be High (H), Medium (M) or Low (L).
● The allocation of assessment level by Nissan is based on factors such as:
➤ Product importance
➤ Supplier quality performance
➤ Product innovation
➤ Process innovation
● The assessment level may change during the life of a project. The supplier should re-confirm their assessment level with Nissan when necessary.
● In the case where a supplier supplies the same product to more
than one customer, the documentation submission requirements will be agreed between the
customers and the supplier during the early stages of development. This agreement shall be on a project by project basis and include responsibilities for customer signature
where applicable.
